The Refugee Action Coalition (Sydney) stands alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their struggle for justice. The first people of this country continue to be the victims of racism and violence at the hands of Australian governments, as do asylum seekers, among the most recent arrivals to these shores. Achieving justice for refugees goes hand-in-hand with the struggle for real justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.<\/p>\n
We recognise the land on which we meet and work as Aboriginal land. RAC Sydney calls on all refugee-rights supporters to support campaigns for indigenous justice. Violence, injustice and oppression do not discriminate between their victims; we do not do so either.
