Update: Reza was released from prison without charge on 2 December: thanks to everyone who contacted the Nauruan consulate<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Reza Khestinzhad, the Iranian asylum seeker who climbed the crane on Nauru<\/a> on Friday 27 November, to send a message to the world about freeing the asylum seeker and refugee children from Nauru, is still in jail.<\/p>\n

He was been in jail since Nauruan police took him from the IHMS clinic on Sunday morning, 29 November.<\/p>\n

His sister has not been allowed to see him since he was taken to the police station.<\/p>\n

Reza was taken to the IHMS clinic on Friday, around 6.30pm, after he ended the protest and came down from the crane.<\/p>\n

Please email or fax a message to the Nauruan consulate in Brisbane, calling for Reza Khestinzhad to be released from jail:<\/p>\n

Dear Consulate-General,<\/em><\/p>\n

I am writing to urge your government to immediately free the Iranian asylum seeker, Reza Khestinzhad, from jail on Nauru. After his peaceful protest on Friday, he has been held by the Nauruan police since Sunday morning (29 November) and has been denied visits by his sister.<\/em><\/p>\n

And also try phoning\/faxing the Australian High Commission on Nauru; and tell them to urge the Nauruan government to free the Iranian asylum seeker, Reza Khestinzhad, from jail on Nauru.
