On the Easter weekend, about 60 refugee activists traveled for over two days <a href=\"http:\/\/converge2011.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">by bus to the Curtin detention camp<\/a> in remote outback WA, as more than 300 asylum seekers staged a hunger strike and sit-in. Sydney RAC members <strong>Ian Rintoul<\/strong>, <strong>Jemima Mowbray<\/strong> and <strong>Julian Gormly<\/strong> were there.<br \/>\nIn a separate visit, <strong>Jo Hind from Chil-Out<\/strong> has inspected conditions on Christmas Island. This public forum will hear eyewitness accounts from these trips.
