More than 100 refugees are expected to march from their family compound to the Australian High Commission office in Nauru, today (Monday 29 September) at 3pm, Nauru time.
Police and protesters negotiated the authorised march after clashes between police and protesters last Friday, when police tried to prevent protesters leaving the family compound in demonstrations last Friday.

The march comes after four days of protests in both the family detention compound and the refugee family residential compound, and a series of self-harm incidents.
Overnight, almost 400 people protested in the family compound OPC 3 on Nauru last night after immigration officials failed to show up for a proposed meeting with the asylum seekers at 5pm Sunday (Nauru time).
At least five people have sewn their lips together, including two unaccompanied minors. Some have now gone without food for three days.
There are unconfirmed reports that more people have been medivacced from Nauru to Australia. The medical condition of the 15 year-old Iranian girl brought to Australia after drinking laundry liquid is not known.
